March is B Corp Month, and we’d like to take a moment to show some love to the manufacturers we’ve partnered with who are Certified B Corporations. But first, do you know exactly what a B Corporation is?

Coming directly from the source, Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit. They are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. This is a community of leaders, driving a global movement of people using business as a force for good.

B-Corp Spotlight

Beanfields

Originating in Los Angeles, Beanfields makes tasty, flavorful and fiber rich bean chips. Beanfields chips are Non-GMO, non-allergen and gluten-free. And Beanfields is crazy about beans for a very good reason. Not only are beans tiny power pods of fiber, protein and potassium – as they say, Beanfields uses black and Navy beans which have more than double the fiber over protein.  Beans also require less than half the water as corn and little to no fertilizer.

Beanfields is also a proud partner of Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles. Homeboy Industries’ mission is to deliver a continuum of services, programs, and job-training to high-risk, formerly gang-involved men and women.

Current Offerings: Beanfields BBQ, Cheddar Sour Cream, Himalayan Salt & Vinegar, Jalapeno Nacho, Pico De Gallo.

After years of research, design and testing with like-minded companies, Alter Eco debuted Gone4Good: the first compostable stand-up pouch made from renewable, plant-based, non-GMO materials. Equator Coffees

The phrase “Coffee Can Be Better” inspired Equator Coffees’ founders to roast and sell coffee themselves from a Marin County garage in 1995. Coffee can be roasted better, brewed better and, most importantly, it can be sourced in a way that makes lives better. That garage became Equator Coffees and marked the beginning of a high-impact coffee company focused on quality, sustainability and social responsibility. Long before anyone thought coffee could embody any of those qualities. As the first coffee roaster in California to be a Certified B Corporation, Equator Coffees is committed to use their business as a force for good.

Equator partners with World Bicycle Relief who mobilizes people through The Power of Bicycles. Equator’s bestselling Equator Blend raises funds for the Sumatran Tiger Trust, a non-profit seeking to preserve the critically endangered Sumatran Tiger.
